A while ago I posted a series of photographs of my journey to Afghanistan where I was sent by Home Base Support to get inspired for the mission they sent me on; They wanted 5 illustrations and an animation depicting their core values and to appeal to their target audience, which consists mainly of Dutch soldiers on a mission abroad. They said they wanted to hire me because they thought my style of illustration was both sensitive and a bit rugged, I don't know if I nailed it this time.. but.. This project is now completed and I'm quite pleased with the result as it was by far the most challenging project I ever tackled. I'm glad that Home Base Support loves the outcome as well and the works will be displayed in their ECHOS homes all around the world. So if you're in the military and are serving your time on a base where the Dutch are stationed, chances are you'll run into my work.
